By end of this year, one of Australian phone manufacturer – Kogan began receiving orders for the second android phone after T-Mobile G1 phone named Kogan Agora Pro (KAP). KAP will start its debut in Australia on next February 2009. Unlike the G1, the phone is not locked to any service provider.
It’s interesting that this 2nd generation of android phone has similarity with Blackberry. It combines between Blackberry Qwerty keypad model and downloadable applications that functionally similar to common iPhone applications.
Besides KAP, this phone also has a lower version named Kogan agora (KA) that will be available in cheaper price. The differences are that Kogan Agora has no camera, Wi-Fi or GPS. Both KAP and KA resemble 624 MHz processor, 128 MB RAM, microSD slot, 3G, 2.5 inches touch screen with 320×240 resolution, Bluetooth, navigation buttons and a full QWERTY keyboard.

After Microsoft Surface, Microsoft demonstrated computer multi touch as a new interface, called TouchWall at Microsoft CEO Summit in Redmond. TouchWall refers to the touch screen with the ability of automatic hardware setup, plus software that will run TouchWall, which was built in the standard version of Vista, called Plex. TouchWall and Plex are almost the same system used in Microsoft Surface, a table multi-touch computer that has been introduced in 2007 and become commercial in AT & T shops.
However, in the demonstration, Microsoft showed that Surface and TouchWall are different each other. Surface is a multi-touch and vision system with cameras to sense what is on the table, where, and what can be done on the table. For example, when the phone is placed on the table, it interacts with everything on the table with a variety of ways, such as pulling a photo from phone memory. Meanwhile, TouchWall is a simple mechanical system that is cheap to be produced. TouchWall has three infrared lasers to scan the surface. A camera will record when something split laser line and provide the information back to the Plex software.
